When Hasanthi, 4, known to her American supporters, as Hasi was a three months old, her father came home drunk. He threw kerosene on his wife and set her on fire. Her mother died. Hasi survived, almost half her body burned.
Her father was arrested and is serving sentence at a jail in Sri Lanka.
Hasi found care and home at Sarvodaya Suwasetha's center in Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
After exhausting every possible treatment options, Hasi arrived in Boston with the support of Liz Smith, a generous benefactor, for further treatment at Shriners Hospital.
It will take several months of treatment and multiple surgeries to complete the treatment, while Hasi waits for new life.
