In Portland, Oregon, Common Way Institute, an inclusive social change organization, fosters inclusive, sustainable human societies on an ecologically viable planet.
Sarvodaya USA affiliated chapters provide a forum for individuals to reflect, act, and support projects.
We have organized lecture, workshops and peace programs with schools, universities, community service groups, and religious congregations.
The goal is to promote exchange of ideas as well as resources; time and “work” as well as goodwill.

Meet the Neighbors
In Reno, Nev., during the last week of June, residents will celebrate their fifth annual “Get to Know Your Neighbor Week.” It’s a celebration that has generated more than 65 simultaneous potlucks with thousands of participants. “We’ve created a decentralized model where neighbors invite neighbors from a three-block radius,” Richard Flyer explains. “It’s self-organizing; we provide a downloadable form for people to put their names and addresses on, and then everyone is invited to bring food.”
