Rebuilding after any disaster is a long term process, especially in case of disasters like the tsunami. Your continuous support will enable Sarvodaya to work towards sustainable rehabilitation of the communities in Sri Lanka.

In accordance to holistic rebuilding and rehabilitation philosophy, Sarvodaya USA is supporting the renovation and construction of 85 playgrounds in Sri Lanka. Sarvodaya USA received $1 million grant from Bush-Clinton Fund to build children parks and playgrounds as a part of tsunami rehabilitation efforts.

In partnership with USAID and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (AJJDC), Sarvodaya is building these parks and playgrounds in the tsunami affected areas of Sri Lanka. The projected will be completed at a cost of $2 million with the full participation of community members in planning, implementation, and training for long term maintenance.
