Sandhya is a brilliant student. And, she loves dancing. But, continuing education became a challenge after the tsunami. The tsunami swept away her entire family - her mother, younger brother and younger sister. Her father had been estranged from the family for years and was living separately.
Now, she only has a grandmother to call a family. They live in a house recently rebuilt with the support of a Belgian donor. Grandmother makes Koya ropes for income but it is barely enough. She worries about finding $40 a month to pay bills.

Direct financial support from Sarvodaya helps Sandhya in education. But, it is more than that. It also helps with other household expenses when the financial flow is almost non-existent.
