Honoring Ari: Sarvodaya Founder is 80
Today, November 5, 2011 marks the 80th year in the life of A.T. Ariyaratne, founder of the Sarvodaya Shramadana Movement. Millions around the world have been inspired by a man whose life has been dedicated to the wellbeing of all, not only in places like Sri Lanka and Nepal but throughout the world.
Dr. Ari’s lifetime of service has shown us that each of us matters. As a teacher and builder of roads to peace and understanding, he has touched us all—millions of people. Each of our individual contributions to Sarvodaya—the awakening of all—can make a profound difference.
Each day this month, would you pause a moment and think of this fine man and his work?
We also invite you to join us in wishing Dr. Ari his 80th birthday. We have a web platform created by Sarvoday Fusion where people from around the world are sharing their wishes. We plan on compling all your thoughts together and present it to Dr. Ari. Click Here for the wishes.
Many of us are also contributing $80, one for each year of Ari’s life. If you can give more, please do so. We would welcome your contribution, in whatever form or amount. If you send $250 or more we would like to send you a limited edition copy of A.T. Ariyaratne: Compassionate Activist. In hundreds of photos and essays, this beautiful book tells the story of Ari’s life and Sarvodaya.
You may donate online or by sending a check to Sarvodaya USA, 122 State Street, Ste 510, Madison, WI 53703
